A five-court complex is set to become a tennis stage the city has never seen before. World-class tennis will be played from March 23 to 29.
Dubrovnik, February 26, 2026 – Final preparations are underway in Lapad Bay for the WTA Dubrovnik Open, which will bring some of the world’s top female tennis players to the city from March 23 to 29. Although this is Dubrovnik’s inaugural edition, the tournament carries the weight of major milestones: 20 years of WTA tournaments in Croatia, ten years under the leadership of Feliks Lukas and his team, and five years of successful events in Makarska.
“Dubrovnik is ready. Our goal is to organize a tournament that will be a true spectacle for both spectators and players,” said tournament director Feliks Lukas, who brings extensive experience in tennis event management. The WTA Makarska Open, held this year from June 1 to 7, was ranked the second-best 125k series tournament in the world, surpassing over 50 other events, so expectations for Dubrovnik are naturally high.
Work is in full swing in Lapad – stands are receiving new seating, lighting is being modernized, old fences are being replaced, and locker rooms and access areas are being upgraded. The five-clay-court complex will soon shine in a new look, transforming a previously neglected area into a true “tennis stage” Dubrovnik has never seen before.
Recently, Hotel Sumratin proudly announced its partnership with the WTA Dubrovnik Open. As the official hospitality partner, the hotel will host players, the organizational team, and tournament guests, cementing its position as one of the city’s most relevant new luxury hotels located adjacent to the tennis courts.
